A number of surveys have indicated that cleanliness is often the reason why guests choose to return to a resort. Regardless, housekeeping is one of the first areas hit with budget cuts when the economy gets tight. The challenge is to avoid sacrificing the top 5 reasons a guest chooses to return to your resort (see chart) to accommodate the 6th reason, price.
To maintain the reputation of the resort, decisions cannot be price-based alone. Often, budgets can be met by reducing costs through finding greater efficiencies. Many resorts are turning to housekeeping providers based on value and not on price alone.
