Carpet Corner: Presentation

Tips from MasterCorp's Director of Carpet emeritus, Ken Hudgens:
Presentation is everything. When a guest initially enters a unit, the first impression is typically formed by the presentation of the carpet. If the carpet is clean, the guest feels comfortable that the unit is well cared for.
To create a positive presentation, the traffic area should be cleaned 4 to 6 times a year, plus one wall-to-wall maintenance clean. Walk-off mats and regular vacuuming help maintain the carpet between cleanings.
Hot water extraction is the most efficient method for cleaning carpet. MasterCorp uses a unique Hi-Flow System that washes the carpet and, at the same time, extracts over 94% of the water from the carpet. This system will also remove soluble and non-soluble, which is especially beneficial for beach-side resorts where sand is frequently tracked into the units.
Good carpet maintenance starts with the purchase of the right carpet. MasterCorp highly recommends solution-dyed carpet, which wears well, is easy to keep clean, and is bleach resistant.
