Activity-based Model = Savings

Housekeeping Management

P1C1-1.jpgAn activity-based business model is an approach to housekeeping that drives staff efficiency and can provide added economies for the resort during times when occupancy fluctuates greatly. With activity-based billing the resort only pays for rooms that are cleaned, instead of paying for a dormant staff.  This can be a difference-maker when resort income is strapped by low occupancy.

To be effective, an activity-based model must involve more than just billing based on activity.  A forecasting program is needed for accurate staffing that matches the number of cleans, and having electronically prepared assignments when the day starts is essential for keeping your housekeepers motivated under this model.

Since activity-based pay has a built-in urgency, a thorough system of inspection is critical for assuring quality cleans.

While an activity-based model requires a balance of many elements to maintain quality and timeliness, it can be a formula for excellence.  MasterCorp has used the model to set the standard for resort housekeeping.
