Cleanliness Goes Digital: Online App Improves Service
Fall 2004
Housekeeping Technology
Sharing information among our 200 or so sites nationwide may seem difficult. But thanks to a new web application MasterCorp has developed, the lines of communication remain open.
“I don’t think you will find any company more willing to invest in the application of new technology to old business processes,” says Jonathan Loveday, our director of information technology who has been instrumental in the development of our new web application.
MasterCorp now benefits from the one-to-one relationship between the web application and its users. Processes that were once produced manually have now been automated, saving significant time, man-hours and dollars.
A few of the benefits offered by the web application include:
- Daily unit cleans are assigned to each housekeeper and immediately transmitted from the site to our corporate office.
- Linen inventories can be inputted and tracked more closely, enabling us to provide our resort customers with more accurate inventory numbers.
- Corporate quality assurance inspections are entered from the site level with scores automatically calculated and made available to corporate management for review and action.
- RCI scores are monitored and calculated for each housekeeper and supervisor by resort, which assists us in identifying and recognizing associates who are performing well.
- Weekly profit and loss statements of controllable expenses can be reviewed weekly, allowing us to better control costs for our customers.
- Company documents and forms are readily available for reference by both our resort and corporate staff management.
Of course, this is just a start. We envision future enhancements that will add even more value to the services MasterCorp provides to our resort customers.
