E-Verify is an internet-based system that enables businesses to determine the eligibility of employees to legally work in the U.S. E-Verify is a voluntary government program, but increasing numbers of states are beginning to put E-verification requirements into law.
Some in the housekeeping industry view immigration laws and E-Verify negatively. However, when MasterCorp implemented E-Verify nationwide as a part of the electronic on-boarding process, minimal fallout was experienced, in part because employment authorization was already in place and the recruiting program had already been adapted to attract work authorized personnel and to keep staffing at an optimal level.
Implementing E-Verify can provide a number of benefits to the resort:
- Mitigated risk to the resort and HOA and reduced exposure to negative PR
- Improved security at the resort
- Improved tenure and stability of staff
- Resolution of contested cases within 10 days
- Notification of expiration dates on work authorization cards
