Recruiting & Staffing

To everything there is a season - turn, turn, turn.
– The Byrds/Pete Seeger/Ecclesiastes

With summer (turn, turn, turn) comes almost every housekeeping manager’s challenge, turning clean rooms on time.  While effective training and efficient cleaning systems help, proper staffing is the essential element.  Timely turns begin with taking the time to recruit and to develop the best staffing sources, which can vary with each labor market.

Local Workforce Centers

Recruiting.jpgThe Employment Coordinator at your local Work Force Center can provide direction, as well as information about recruiting avenues within your community.  Once the appointment is scheduled, the center will contact prospective employees listed in their database and have them arrive on the scheduled recruitment date.

Work Force Centers can:

  • Create job orders
  • Schedule in-house recruitment
  • Gather public transportation information
  • Provide government-sponsored links to other job placement agencies

Maximize Recruiting Avenues

“Use all recruiting techniques available to you,” advises national recruiting manager Jennifer Luna.  “Don’t count on just one method, such as newspaper advertising.  Our internal recruiting program has been our most effective method, but MasterCorp site managers are trained to maintain staffing levels by continually working at least five different recruiting avenues.”
