Slip-Resistant Shoes
Summer 2011
Safety
The inevitability of accidents doesn’t make them acceptable. Slips and trips, the most prevalent type of accident at housekeeping work sites, make up almost a quarter of housekeeping-related injuries (see below). Many of these accidents can be prevented with slip-resistant shoes.
Not only do slip-resistant shoes decrease the danger of an incident on wet or slick surfaces, they also promote a professional appearance. Once considered ‘clunky,’ slip-resistant shoes are now offered by well-known brands in stylish loafers, pumps, boots, and athletic shoes.
At MasterCorp locations, managers set the example for all employees by wearing slip-resistant shoes on site and by encouraging the use of slip-resistant shoes for all staff.
